Japanese treasure boxes from Asiatica in Westwood

Good things come in small packages, but sometimes the small package itself is a good thing. Such is the case with these treasure boxes from Asiatica in Westwood.

They’re made from Japanese silk brocade and are available in a variety of colors. Originally designed to contain fragrant chips of wood used in incense ceremonies in Japan, they are perfect containers for gifts of jewelry, money, or other little treasures.

The boxes are approximately two-and-half-by-two inches when closed, making them great for travel. They retail for $35 each and can be purchased online here.
