The red-hot trends to look for this month
This month, red is everywhere. An ambassador of love, romance and passion on nearly everything (roses, greeting cards, Oreo filling). It’s also a hue with the incredible superpower to influence how our brains perceive one another. A string of studies in color psychology (it’s a thing) have found both men and women rate someone they think is attractive as even more so when that person is wearing red. The scarlet shade literally sways the eye of the beholder. It’s certainly not a color you wear if you want to go unnoticed. So in the name of attraction, we combed local stores to find beautiful red clothing, accessories, and makeup. Why not wear one and test the science? Or surprise your beloved with one to remind them of your heart’s desire. On Valentine’s Day, love wins.
