Sandlot Hits a Homer With Opening Day Collection

Excited about the Kansas City Royals’ Opening Day? So are the awesome folks at Sandlot Goods. The Kansas City-based leather accessories brand released a limited-edition collection of items for men and women today in honor of our home team’s first game of the 2015 season. The bi-fold wallet, billfold, key fob and women’s wrist wallet designs may look familiar to Sandlot’s fans, but the limited editions have a few cool features that baseball fans will love.

“What makes the Opening Day collection unique is that each item is made of Horween ball-glove leather,” says Katy Bird, designer and co-founder of Sandlot Goods. “The ball-glove leather isn’t always easy to come by, so each product is a limited edition of 15 to celebrate the 2015 season. We have also replaced the red stitch with a blue baseball stitch to show our Kansas City Royals pride.”

The collection is available now at sandlotgoods.com—but you’d better make a run for it, as the pieces are in short supply.

Don’t worry if you strike out on getting one of Sandlot’s limited-edition pieces. We’ve rounded up a few more ways to show your KC pride from head to toe.

Opening Day

1. Support a home team of a different sort with KC-based Baldwin Denim’s retro-look wool snapback cap ($48, baldwindenim.com).

2. Janesko’s KC ring necklace ($66, janesko.com), designed by local artist Jennifer Janesko, isn’t as flashy as the American League Champions rings our boys in blue are wearing and that’s fine by us.

3. Who says you only wear crowns on your head? Give your feet the royal treatment with local Sock 101’s “The Robinson” socks ($12, sock101.com)

4. Westport-based Normal Human’s KC wheat baseball tee ($26, nrmlhmn.com) is quite the catch for any Royals fan.
