Friday 

Gatsby Swing at the Station 

Enjoy a night of Gatsby-era music from the Kansas City Jazz Orchestra at Union Station. From 8 to 10 p.m., you can sip on drinks from Pierpont’s and let the musical numbers take you back to the ’20s. Tickets are $15 at the door and can be purchased here.

HomeComing 2016: Urban Jungle 

The party of the week begins at 8 p.m. at Studio Dan Meiners. The jungle-themed event will feature food from Delish! Catering, entertainment by Lost Wax and the Late Night Theatre, as well as an open bar with specialty cocktails. This year’s event honors SAVE Inc.’s 30th anniversary. Tapped 

Tapped, the ultimate craft beer festival, is headed to the Sprint Center Saturday from 12 to 4 p.m. Attendees will be able to taste more than 100 beers, wines and ciders from local and worldwide vendors. Seven Things I’ve Learned: An Evening with Ira Glass

The host of NPR’s This American Life discusses the knowledge he’s gained throughout his time at NPR, where he has worked as a tape cutter, newscast writer, desk assistant, editor, reporter and producer. Glass will be speaking at the Lied Center of Kansas from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased here.

Day of the Dead Festival

The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art hosts its annual Day of the Dead Festival beginning at 10 a.m. The free events, which ends at 4 p.m., features live music, special performances, children’s art activities and traditional Mexican fare in the Bloch Lobby and Rozzelle Court Restaurant. Guests can view the Day of the Dead altar in Kirkwood Hall, and take home a Day of the Dead-inspired print from local artists. For a full schedule of the day’s events, click here.

Bluestem’s Final Sunday Brunch
