Kansas City-based company brings their ocean-inspired bath collection to major retailer
Do you smell that?
It’s the scent of fresh ocean air. But you don’t have to travel far to experience it.
Mer-Sea & Co., a Kansas City-based company, is bringing their ocean-inspired bath collection to Anthropologie stores this month.
And it all started with a small soap.
Anthropologie contacted the ladies behind Mer-Sea about a collaboration after discovering one of their soaps last year.
The Mer-Sea team, based out of Merriam, Kan., sat down with the team at Anthropologie in September and created custom-designed products for the national retailer.
“They are an amazing, creative company and they really know their customer,” Melanie Bolin, founder of Mer-Sea, said. “They really wanted to create something that would just appeal to the Anthropologie girl.”
The exclusive collection includes body wash, body lotion, bath oils, salt soaks and scrubs in six difference scents.
The first scent offered, titled the Saltaire Collection, features hints of citrus, jasmine, sweet wood and bamboo for a “fresh ocean air” feel.
The second scent, Cocunut Sugar, includes magnolia and orange blossom, amber, coconut milk, vanilla and sandalwood.
Dune Flower has a floral scent, with an orange blossom top note paired with sweet honeysuckle, sandalwood and amber musk.
Other scents are the Voyager Collection, with “strong aquatic notes,” Sun Kissed and Summer Day.
The Mer-Sea Collection for Anthropologie is free of sulfates and parabens.
