Sequins and paillettes are the shiny happy people of the garment world, able to convert any outfit into a fun and festive one in a flash. And during this time of year, when extra shimmer and shine abound, a few (or, heck, oodles of) sequins and paillettes on clothing just feels right. Thankfully, designers made it easy to sparkle this season by embracing the shimmery, shiny discs like never before. They placed them on more silhouettes—skirts, dresses, joggers and even pantsuits were covered in all-over sequins—and they paired separates with different colors and patterns of sequins together (Dries Van Noten did so gorgeously when he sent a black midi embroidered with winding rings of green sequins down the runway topped with a shirt coated in gold, black, and silver shimmer). So in other words, the runways have spoken, and more is more when it comes to sequins. Any of these pieces will make the holiday party season a shiny one.
