Sunday Spaces, a new lifestyle section published once a month in The Kansas City Star, will return this Sunday, Dec. 4. This month’s edition will include a number of features on fashion, food, drinks, home decor and more from the editors of Kansas City Spaces magazine. Here’s a look at what you can expect in this month’s issue:

Contributing writer Stephanie Jacob highlights this season’s most festive outfits in the December Dressing section, from sequin bomber jackets and joggers to sparkly sweaters and skirts. Her roundup will leave you in the mood to celebrate in style.

Carl Thorne-Thomsen, chef-owner of Story in Prairie Village, gives readers a taste of the sea with his recipe for Pan Roasted Grouper with Citrus Butter Sauce in the Cooking section. Contributing writer Judith Fertig consults cookbook author Roxanne Wyss Batemen for tips on hosting a homemade cookie exchange for gatherings big and small.

This month, Tom Strongman reviews the Hyundai Genesis, the brand’s luxury car that rivals Acura, Infiniti and Lexus.

In the Wedding section, you’ll get the details on the rustic, yet elegant affair of Kansas State University alums Monica Lair and Matt Junghans. The couple’s wedding, located at Big Cedar Lodge’s Top of the Rock, blended the pair’s tastes effortlessly.

The Drinking section features a clove and cranberry cocktail from Caitlin Corcoran, general manager and co-owner of Ça Va in Westport. If you’re hosting a New Year’s Eve bash this December, you won’t want to miss contributing writer Cody Hogan’s picks for the best bubbly to pop at midnight.

Interior designer Kurt Knapstein gives readers the details on his current design obsession, and contributing writer Brooke McGrath rounds up the most stylish desk lamps in the Decorating section. And last but not least, learn how you can replicate the multipurpose living room of interior designer Lisa Curran.
